Tree Planting

The Group On Saturday 1st March 2008, leaders and scouts from the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts Sections of 1st Baxenden Scout Group went along to plant trees at the Woodlands Trust at Earby.

We had a fantastic turnout from all the sections - even though the cold windy weather threatend to beat us !!

Cub Leader and CubI think it was safe to say that we generally had a fun time and we managed to cover quite a large section of turf too, so also quite a productive morning for a Saturday!!

Thanks to everybody who attended, especially the parents who came along, spade in hand and helped the group achive the Group Environment award.

December 2007

It is with much regret that the Baxenden Cub Pack has been suspended with effect from the 17th December 2007.

Cubs will be placed at other packs within the Hyndburn District, and a letter has been sent out to all existing parents from Mr Gerald Tipling the ADC Cubs informing them that they should contact alternative pack leaders directly to discuss availability of places for their child. (Contact details provided in that letter).

Information will be posted here of any progress.

Farwell and good luck to Ron - Sixers and Seconders trip to Southport 07

Cubs at Splash World The sixers and Seconders went to Southport Splash World for a trip as they missed out on their camp this year due to this years Centenary scouting celebrations. On arrival at Splash World there was a long queue, but the Cubs kept themselves entertained and also had their lunch before going in. The four Cubs we took had a great time on the two slides, rapid river and the huge tyre flume ride.

After we left Splash World we went for a walk in the town centre, to give the Cubs the opportunity to spend their pocket money.

Ron and the Cubs Sadly this was Ron’s last trip with the Cubs, as shortly after the trip, Ron decided that it was time for him to move on and out of scouting.

Ron will be sadly missed by everyone in Cubs and we all would like to wish him all the best for the future.
